Home!!

We're home and all is well. Delphina's tests came back negative and she is asleep in our living room.

Milk and Poop

Vinci's milk is coming in and Delphina's poop is starting to come out (rather than meconium), and our routine is stabalizing. Hopefully we'll all come home tomorrow. Men should be worshiping women every day for bringing life into the world and then sustaining it.

Better

Delphina's temp is back to normal and she is doing well. She is still on antibiotics and we won't get the blood culture back until Sunday morning. The earliest she will be home, then, is Sunday, maybe longer if she is infected. Vinci will be staying there at least through tonight and maybe tomorrow night.

Rough Morning

Delphina had a temp of 100.8 this morning and the doctor wanted to do some blood work and put her on antibiotics. Vinci and I were very apprehensive of giving her more antibiotics since she had so much through Vinci during her laboring (Vinci was strep b positive so they gave her penecillin for 24hours). After talking to a "minimalist" doctor that is a professor at the hospital, we decided to go ahead, thinking that she might have a urinary tract infection. Delphina has had her blood work and a dose of antibiotics and is doing well. Vinci and I are shaken up over what was a hard decision for us, but we think the right one since the nurse has since said that her urine was cloudy and thus indicating an infection.
